Kuching Talk 16 : Sunny Day

Ong said : "Do you mind to extend one more month to work in Kuching Office?"

I become silent for a while. "Can arrange in such a way that as and when required only I will come here (kuching) ?"

"No, I don't prefer that way." Ong said.

My temporary contract to work in Kuching for 2 months to be expired on 7/11/2009. "Or 2 weeks in KL and subsequently 2 weeks in Kuching ?" That is the best I able to give and offer.

"Ok, let me further discuss with management."

I walked out from the Cabin and noted it was a sunny day. I use to love sunny day especially when you are laying and relaxing at the beaches or pool sides.

But, may be not today, the sky never attract me after the conversation with Ong.

Kuching Talk 12 : Magazines

Early October, I saw this NEWicon magazines at book store, The Spring. However, I walked out from the book store without buying it.

I shared with wong,"the price printed at cover page as 'W.M. 15.00, E.M 18.50.' Any reasons that they sell the magazine at RM 20.70 with their own price tag ?"

"When I newly arrived here, I have the same feeling and refuse to buy any magazines in kuching, I only bought it as and when I go back to KL." Wong laugh. "However, after sometime, I don't mind to pay a little bit more even still feel like being cheated."

Yes, Wong is definitely right. After 2 weeks and on last night, I bought these magazines with RM 20.70.

Kuching Talk 11 : Damai Puri Resort and Spa

I have been in Kuching for more than a month now. It has been quite busy since I arrived here. I found that people here work differently if compared with Kuala Lumpur. They are more relaxing during office hours whereas Kuala Lumpur always rush for time and complete things fast.

I also found that maintain balance in life quiet challenging. I spent a lot of time in works, 8am to 7pm. As such after work, I usually do gym and swim.

Last saturday, I even took 1/2 day leave on afternoon and stayed a night at Damai Puri Resort and Spa, santubong.

However, for some reason, I felt exhausted that night for the 1st time in the history of my time, I leave Kuala Lumpur and here in Kuching. I went to bed at 12 midnight after a tele-conversation with one of my colleague in Kuala Lumpur.

Kuching Talk 9 : Sunday

I only work on that Sunday during the 1st week I arrived Kuching as I still do not have car and no places to go on that particular weekend.

Suhairi and Paidi worked on every Sunday. They are entitled OT claim whereas I will only get RM 20 for meals allowance if I worked continue for 5 hours.

For 2nd week onward, I sleep until 8am and go out for breakfast after 9am. I will enjoy my breakfast while reading newspaper. It usually took me 1 hour to finish my breakfast, as such I required to find some great restaurants which allow me to stay there for 1 hour breakfast, i.e. after three, kaya and toast and etc.

I will buy some stuffs at Sunday market after my breakfast, if not, or and after, I will drive to Stampark Place for swimming. I usual to continue my newspaper reading while enjoying little sunbath on the pool side. (for sure applying coppertone sunscreen - SPF 50). I have paid for monthly entry fees for swimming which cost me RM 70 per month or else, entry fees for adult is RM 5.50 per entry.

I will depart from stampark to Jalan Rock, which the distance shall be about 3km. “Fit 4 Life” is located at Jalan Rock, is where I do my gym. The monthly fees for 1 month temporary pass is RM 180 which I have to pay for it to use the gym facility. The gym closed at 5pm on sunday.

And start looking for places for dinner after that.

Dinner so early ? Yes, majority the shops closed after 5pm and people here use to sleep early. My colleagues, suhairy and paidi will closed their door and sleep after 9.30pm........
