KISSATEN

Hi, guys, I found a nice restaurant located at Jaya One, PJ on sunday afternoon. I have lunch there with Darren and both of us agreed that the foods tasted great and the prices shall considered reasonable. So, in future, we should have other venue to have our "yum char session" and if you guy still preferred "old town white coffee", don't worried, Jaya One have one as well which located at the main entrance.

In fact, I have read from NEW Icon about this restaurant few months ago, therefore during the sunny afternoon when Darren msn me for lunch and suggested somewhere in Jaya One PJ, I have thought about this recommended restaurant immediately.
Please check the pages from New Icon as below. (note : enlarged it for reading.)

Jaya One's building outlook and located at Jalan University, PJ.

Before entering the Kissaten restaurant, we have a check on the menu at the entrance door and found that the foods serviced with reasonable prices. We decided to have our light lunch here.

The decoration of the restaurant is simply and comfortable with majority colours consisting of white mixed with wood and steel colours. The restaurant do have outside or open space as well and shall be great to sit there during night time for chit-chatting with friends.

Since Darren wanted to go for gym after the lunch and I will go for swim, as such we just order some light lunch, i.e. roti-canai with curry (RM 4.90), teriyaki chicken burger (RM 5.90), sandwich (RM 7.90), white coffee (RM 5.90) and royal milk tea (RM 6.90). I took some pictures of the foods and Darren kept laughing and commented me "so women"....

We have nice lunch there and leave the restaurant around 4pm. It still a sunny afternoon.

Play Squash

Roger Federer couldn't stop the flow of tears during the trophy presentation after lost to Nadal in the Australian Open 2009.

We have talked about this matter during supper time after squash training on 2/2/2009. Yes, We never see Nicol David or anyone crying during trophy presentation on the events of KL open and Malaysia Open. To me, win or lost during training or any squash competitions participated will only bought me the emotion of little happy or little frustration and never until the tears drop.

Remember during University times, I play squash for the objective of fun and killing the time. No one care about the results - win or loss, we just wish to sweat inside the court and keep laughing and laughing, so happy.

When started work in Kuala Lumpur, on and off, still playing during weekend. Never ask for coaching or seek for improvement of squash games, still play for fun during the weekend for the duration of a year before totally stopped it.

And after years and years not holding the squash racket, until I met Mark and he has introduced me to join LPG for squash on the year of 2004. It was the time, I started put on some efforts on squash games due to I was always lost to almost all the LPG squash players.

From end 2004 until today 2009, become one of the regular LPG squash player, so many years still never have tears dropping after losing or winning the games (even during competitions). Therefore, I start thinking some questions after watching Roger Federer's tears.

My questions shall be tabulated as below :-

1. Me love to have tears inside my eyes even watching movies or hong kong series, but I never cry after the squash games ? May be I don't like squash, I guess...

2. If I don't like to play squash, what other games shall I involved start from the year of 2009 ? My mind started think about Tennis..., and since David (the Leng Chai who stay in kelana jaya) also play tennis, may be I should join him, I guess...

As such, Roger Federer's tears told me that I shall started to play tennis on the year of 2009. This is one of my wishes and next target for the year of the OX. Hope my objective success.

Chinese New Year 2009 - Penang Trip

Johan called, "Do you free to penang today and stay a night there ?"
"Yes." I answered.

That is day 2 of Chinese New Year, 27/1/2009, Johan and Jeff Ng came from Kuala Lumpur and drop by at my hometown to pick me up to penang. Before toward to destination, I manage to guide them to some popular places in the Perak Royal Town(Bandar Diraja), such as Ubudiah Mosque, Istana Iskandariah, Royal Museum of Perak, Clock Tower, Malay College Kuala Kangsar and Railway Station.

Ubudiah Mosque - completed in 1919

Royal Museum of Perak - completed in 1926

After the lunch at Kuala Kangsar, we drove towards to Penang, "Pearl of the Orient".

Upon arrived penamg, we directly check in to Gurney Hotel, which located along gurney drive. The studio siute room cost RM 264.50 with great view of seaside (the cost shared by johan, jeff ng, daniel, anthony and sam). Daniel reached hotel arround 6pm by bus from kuala lumpur. We gathered at hotel and decided go for dinner at gurney drive hawker center.

We were lucky to find a parking spot in front of Gurney plaza mall (RM 3) and a table almost immediately. Gurney drive, lots of hawker stalls selling variety of local delights and not to be missed. We have penang's famous specialites, such as penang laksa, char koay teow, lor bak, oyster. rojak and ets.

Anthony and Hank arrived penang to meet us around 10pm. Anthony has suggested to go for clubbing at Mo Mo Bar located at penang road. However, we discovered that the entry charges to mo mo bar was too expensive, so we decided just have some drinks outside the bar.

Drinks outside mo mo bar

After the drinks, Hank sent us (except anthony, he joint his friends to mo mo bar)to massage (RM 100), 5 minutes drive from penang road. Nice experience and relaxing.......haha.

We have supper at gurney drive again before going back to hotel room. It was around 2am. We slept around 4am with the arrangment that johan, sam, daniel and jeff ng on the beds and anthony slept on the sofa.

Johan slept on the left, follow by sam, daniel and jeff ng. All said very narrow spaces and unable to sleep well. Of course, only couples able to sleep well with hugging each other in the single bed, and ..we were just squash friends, haha.

The next day, we went for breakfast at burma road and shop at pelangi mall before towards to Kek Lok Si Temple located at Ayer Hitam (black water in english). Kek Lok Si Temple is the biggest Buddhist temple in Mlaysia. We took an inclined lift ride (RM 2)and visited the latest addition temple with an awesome 30m high bronze statue of the Kuen Yin.

We departed from penang around 4pm.

This will be the first time we have a trip and gathering at penang during Chinese New Year festival. We have nice time there.
